House market strong in 2012?

Housing market

The housing market has had its fair share of ups and downs in recent years. The economic conditions have seen prices fall and mortgage funds reduced as the world continues to recover from the financial difficulties of 2008. Jeffries Estate Agents have remained prominent in the local market because of its traditional work ethic and attention to detail.

January is always a good indication of the market levels expected for the year. Jeffries report strong levels of valuations and applicant registrations in the first week.

Portsmouth Branch Manager Adam Redman said:

“We had a suprisingly busy December. We even arranged sales, throughout the group, inbetween Christmas and New Year! The first week in January has been the same with all offices reporting high sales levels and good instructions. The secret is in our marketing and pricing your property accurately. If you price it right it sells.

The fact remains that it is a buyers market and people are nervous of what they pay. It’s not about ‘under valuing’ or ‘giving it away’ just researching the prices properly, knowing the current supply and demand issues and pricing it correctly.”
